Life Skill Opportunity

Some young people want more training beyond summer camp. For them, GSF sponsors a Life Skills Opportunity (LSO). The LSO provides training, counseling, and encouragement from adult mentors in a wide variety of skills necessary for a successful and fulfilling life.

Young people involved in LSO meet most of the Saturdays throughout the year. They become part of a learning and doing team that aligns with their interests and grows their faith. They are encouraged through Bible study and adult testimony to put God at the center of all their endeavors and decisions.

The benefits that accrue to the participants for faithful effort and attendance include: maturing in their faith, learning real-life skills, beginning to develop a life plan including educational and vocational options, developing talents, achieving an advanced resume from Good Spirit Foundation, Inc., staying in a Godly, peaceful, exciting environment, accumulating $ 6,000 plus in scholarships, establishing a portfolio of actual work they have implemented, accomplished, and maintained, earning an AA degree (or vocational certifications) with $0 college debt.

In LSO, we provide training, counseling, and encouragement in topics including entrepreneurship, life planning, college/vocational planning, critical thinking, accounting, financial literacy, musicianship and presentation, praise and worship, computer technology and production, hands-on skills, office skills, public speaking, social graces, leadership, etc.
